Reflection on The Other Side Of Covid 19

Yes, indeed, the outbreak and breakthrough of COVID 19 is seen in the global sphere. The entire globe is seeing its pandemic impact to human existence. Human existence is worst affected and impacted. What a global tragedy? The global populace is crying for help … in panic searching for food to feed empty stomachs … frontliners come out in space and in time showing their courage, concern, and care for their fellowmen and women, young and adults … monitoring and reporting on paper and on air fatalities caused by COVID 19 …

governments of all nations while showing compassion for their people are also worrying with the worsening situations which are badly affecting their resources intended to support the stability of their nation and for the sustainability of the lives of their own peoples … churches are in prayer and in action seeking and sharing divine favors, divine protection, and divine intervention for the whole world.

THIS IS THE ONE SIDE OF COVID 19 THAT ALL EYES OF THE WORLD ARE GAZING UPON AND TURNED TO.

The OTHER SIDE of COVID 19 comes out gradually as it brings our FAITH to the CHALLENGE having been faced and suffered the severe global hurts and pains COVID 19 continues to bring to the fore of human existence.

Reflection 1. Why COVID 19 has become a “universal” reality? The term “universal” is derived from two Latin words, namely, “unus, uni” (which means “one” in Latin) and “vers” (which means “turned” in Latin). So, by “universal” reality, I mean, that all eyes of the world are “turned” towards “one” reality, that is, the COVID 19. Undeniably, thus, COVID 19 is a universal reality … a reality universally seen by all nations throughout the world and witnessed by all people on the surface of the Earth.

The question now is “Why COVID 19’s universal impact?” Could it be that COVID 19 is intent to challenge the “universal” character of the Church, how She has been at work in the world, how its hierarchy of leaders are leading the People of God come to terms with CREATION, REDEMPTION, and INSPIRATION, and how people are living out their FAITH?

Could it be that COVID 19 is intent to change the thoughts and ways of the entire mankind which had darkened the surface of the earth for the past multitude of years and which past has covered and damaged a vast magnitude of human lives? Could it be that COVID 19 is intent in instructing us, the entire humanity, to align and conform our thoughts and ways to the thoughts and ways of God which are much higher than those of ours (Ref. Isaiah 55: 8-9) and regard them as our norms and standards for our thoughts and ways?

Could it be that COVID 19 is intent to bring the entire humanity back to its original design as envisioned by God, the Creator, in the beginning and from the beginning, and as restored by our same God, the Creator, in Christ Jesus through His works of DEFINITIVE REDEMPTION which He did ONCE FOR ALL (Ref. Hebrews 9: 12, 10: 10)? Could it be that COVID 19 is intent to empower the entire humanity to definitively claim with a resounding voice, saying, “WE DO NOT ANYMORE BELONG TO A FALLEN HUMANITY, WE NOW BELONG TO A REDEEMED HUMANITY”?

LET THIS BE NOW THE PROPHETIC VOICE OF THE ENTIRE HUMANITY CRYING OUT:

“WE DO NOT ANYMORE BELONG TO A FALLEN HUMANITY, WE NOW BELONG TO A REDEEMED HUMANITY”.

Could it be also that COVID 19 is intent to let us, the entire humanity, come to our senses that if, indeed, we already have belonged, belong, and shall belong to a REDEEMED HUMANITY, then, we should have in our lives lived out the FRUITS OF REDEMPTION and enjoy the WELLNESS and FULLNESS of LIFE in fulfillment of what our Lord Jesus said in John 10:10, saying, “I have come that they may have life and have it in ABUNDANCE”.

Could it be that COVID 19 has taken notice of how PERVERSE generations we already have become?

Reflection 2. Why COVID 19 has surprised the global community with its rapid cross-transmission of its virus infecting and annihilating human lives and only human lives? Could it be that COVID 19 is intent to replace humans with robots for humans have not been and are no longer useful to the world? Could it be that COVID 19 took notice of the fact that the advancement of science and technology has given much great contributions to the movements of the world more than what humans have done and can do? Could it be that COVID 19 has taken notice of the fact that humans have proven themselves useless in the face of the world dominated by electronic gadgets?

Could it be that COVID 19 had taken notice of the fact that humans have already lost sight of the SACRED and have been infiltrated by the SECULAR? Could it be that humans have not really responded to the task tasked by God from the very beginning of creation, that is, the task of CULTIVATING and KEEPING the wonders of God’s CREATION?

Reflection 3. Why COVID 19 as a universal reality has entered the world in time for the passing of the intent of the current leadership of the Catholic or Universal Church, Pope Francis, documented in the Document on HUMAN FRATERNITY FOR WORLD PEACE AND LIVING TOGETHER? Could it be that COVID 19 is intent to trigger relationships between and among nations in the world so as to bring them to living together in world peace?

Happy to see all nations NOW in collaboration as they address this pandemic outbreak and breakthrough of COVID 19.

Could it be that COVID 19 is intent to break the wall of separation between Church and State while respecting the distinction of their jurisdiction?

Good to see churches and states working together in the face of COVID 19 and, God-willing, continue this even after COVID 19.

Given the above points for reflections with series of questions and given the atmosphere provided to us by HOLY WEEK 2020, what, NOW, must be our responses and realizations? What RESOLUTIONS must we have and do if only to make our HUMAN EXISTENCE free from ALL SORTS of CALAMITIES and TRAGEDIES and if only to keep this WORLD habitable where all of us would feel AT HOME and enjoy being A HOME.
